New Orleans College Prep

New Orleans College Prep’s mission is to prepare each of its students to enter and excel in a rigorous four-year college or university. As a public charter school, New Orleans College Prep (NOCP) is publicly funded, independently managed, non-selective, and available tuition-free on a lottery basis to any child in Orleans Parish. Our scholars are nearly 100% African-American and 96% qualify for free or reduced lunch service. They live in all parts of New Orleans, and they are guaranteed free transportation to school. The school opened for an entering class of sixth graders in August 2007 and currently serves 170 6th - 7th graders in the 2008-2009 school year. We will open our first elementary school in Fall 2009 and grow both schools every year until we serve grades PK-12. NOCP is also planning to expand its services to open additional PK-12 campuses throughout New Orleans.

Our goal is nothing short of 100% college readiness for each of our students. We believe in the power of high expectations for every one of our students to excel academically, succeed in college, and become the future leaders of our city and nation.
