Hal Brown is a Principal of Paladin Capital Group, a private equity investment firm with $450 million under management based in Washington, DC, with satellite offices in New York and New Orleans. He has recently returned to his roots in New Orleans, where he was born and raised, and is actively involved in the neighbor hood recovery process in the city.
Rick Conway is a Partner with Frantzen, Voelker, and Conway Investments, LLC, where he is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the management and development of the firm’s portfolio companies. Mr. Conway is actively involved in several New Orleans community service initiatives.
Monica Edwards has over 15 years of experience in private equity and finance, currently with Whitney National Bank. With extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, closing, and asset managing complex transactions, she assists developers in structuring transactions using New Market Tax Credits and other public subsidies. Ms. Edwards is committed to improving the well being of children living in socially and economically challenged communities. Through organizations like Junior League, 100 Black Women, and the Robert A. Toigo Foundation, she has worked to improve the circumstances of such children.
Peter Harding is a Main Board Director and Managing Director of E D & F Man Holdings Limited’s Molasses & Palm Oil Trading, Feed Products, Third Party Storage, Biofuels Division (2003-2006). A resident of New Orleans, Peter has diverse professional experience in commodity trading and asset management, and he has served as the CEO of several businesses throughout his distinguished
career.
Ruth Kullman has over twenty years of experience in developing and implementing strategies to obtain funding from private and corporate foundations and individuals. Most recently, Kullman served as Finance Director for the Mitch Landrieu mayoral campaign, raising over $4 million in four months. Her major focus is the non-profit community, which includes educational, religious and civic organizations.
Barbara MacPhee is the Founder and retired School Director of The New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School, an open admissions public charter school dedicated to the teaching of science and math to a primarily low income and African American student population. 95% of the school’s 2005 graduates were accepted into college and/or universities and the class of 2005 received $1,340,000 in scholarship offers.
Murray Pitts began her professional career as a teacher, then worked as a fund raiser for non-profits for many years. She continues to consult with non-profit clients in various fields. Ms. Pitts is a life-long resident of New Orleans, is a member of many civic organizations and serves on several non-profit boards and advisory boards.
