The Opportunity:
New Orleans College Prep is adding a full-time Executive Director of Operations. The EDO is a senior, campus-based leadership role that oversees all operations functions necessary to run an exemplary learning community. The EDO ensures New Orleans College Prep meets high standards of operational excellence and enables instructional leaders and staff to focus on driving strong academic outcomes for all of its students. In addition to leading the Operations team, the EDO will collaborate closely with the CEO and other New Orleans College Prep staff to build capacity via people-centered systems to scale towards strategic goals across the organization and city.
Leadership
Board Governance
Engage with the Board collaboratively and productively to promote rigorous board-management discussion to solve critical challenges and realize New Orleans College Prep’s mission
Communicate information transparently and promptly to the Board
Strategic/Cultural Leadership
Serve as a member of the school's Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
Work with CEO/Principal to ensure that operational policies, practices, and procedures are in place to ensure compliance and maximize organizational effectiveness
Assist in developing, refining, and executing New Orleans College Prep’s next strategic growth plan
Work alongside other school community members to develop a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) and monitor progress toward named priorities and goals.
Establish, support, and manage the school operations team
Widely and regularly champion and inspire people with the organization's vision, goals, plans, results, and success stories
Planning & Preparation
Finance
Work with the ELT, school-based leaders, and finance support vendor to establish a budget that ensures resources are utilized efficiently and effectively to meet the organization's needs and goals
Manage relationship with finance support vendor to manage financial operations in the areas of accounting, reporting, banking, budgeting, procurement, and compliance *
Actively managed schools' budgets by leading monthly budget meetings with the finance vendor and CEO/Principal to review budget variances and monitor spending.
Work with development consultant and CEO/Principal to develop grants and solicit other funding sources to supplement the budget. Support the management of all federal grants, including all applications, budgets, PERs, and reimbursement requests
Work with the finance vendor and other key staff to prepare for the annual audits
Technology
Oversee staff and strategies for planning, implementation, and support of all technology required for New Orleans College Prep to achieve its educational and business goals
Directly support the Technology Coordinator and Technology Specialist to ensure that students and staff have safe and reliable access to New Orleans College Prep’s network, devices, and other resources identified as part of the New Orleans College Prep’s IT plan.
Facilities
Ensure our buildings are clean, safe, well maintained, and efficiently operated
Oversee the effective management of New Orleans College Prep’s food services programs
Transportation
Ensure school-based staffing, systems, and equipment are in place for the transportation programs with timely, reliable, safe, on-budget, and fully compliant delivery of services
Directly support the School Operations Manager to ensure the effective management of New Orleans College Prep’s transportation
After School Programming
Support management of the afterschool program
Data-Driven Instruction
Data Systems
Define operations excellence for New Orleans College Prep and develop and utilize existing data dashboards to manage network and school-based operations
Work alongside operations team members and data partners to manage information systems and state reporting
Assessments
Oversee district test coordination Student Culture & Community Involvement
Family and Community Relations
Work with the CEO/Principal to design and implement highly effective communication systems that positively impact organizational effectiveness and customer service
Work to ensure that New Orleans College Prep’s volunteer program is safe and compliant, positively impacts our students, and provides a valuable experience for our volunteers
Student Recruitment
Provide oversight to the student recruitment, enrollment, and onboarding systems, with a solid commitment to customer service and educational equity
Student Attendance
Work alongside the leadership team to monitor the implementation of the attendance plans
Adult Culture
Human Resources
Manage the relationship with HR vendor to ensure that all HR systems, including hiring and onboarding of staff, benefits selection and management, employee payroll data, maintenance of HR records, and staff handbook, are practical and efficient
Personnel
Hold team members accountable for professional responsibilities and goals while providing opportunities for professional development
Ensure that personnel information is handled and organized effectively, maintaining confidentiality Qualifications
High School Athletics Oversite
Serve as the athletic director.
Guide high school assistant athletic director.
Prepare budgets and allocate spending on items such as coaches' salaries, team travel, equipment purchases, and facility upkeep with the CEO or designee
Collaborate with LHSAA districts and leagues about scheduling issues
Review all varsity sport LHSAA eligibility folders to ensure student-athlete eligibility for successful competition seasons
Mediate any disputes between athletes and coaches or between coaches
Observes varsity teams during competition and practice to determine individual or team improvement needs.
Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.

Lead the strategic direction and operations of Alumni Relations
Be available to Cohen alumni, parents, donors, and officials to discuss any facet of Walter L. Cohen.

Recruit, hire, develop, support, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff including but not limited to facilities manager, athletic coaches, and operation team members.

Credential and/or Education Requirements:
Bachelor's required, advanced degree in business, public administration, or related field preferred

Experience managing an annual budget of $10M+ preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of and skills in using various computer programs including, but not limited, to Google Suite Software
Skills in finding ways to solve problems and improve systems
