Announcing the Executive Director for Hoffman Early Learning Center

Dear Hoffman Parents,

As you know, we have been involved in a lengthy process to find our next executive director, and I am excited to announce that Ms. Zerlander Ragas, our Interim Director, has accepted the position of Executive Director for Hoffman Early Learning Center. This decision was made after reviewing many applications for the position, interviewing 3 finalists including performance task and presentation segments, conducting a 2nd interview between two finalists, and ultimately deciding on Ms. Ragas as our new executive director.

Ms. Ragas had performed superbly during her work as interim director during a difficult period in our city as we faced the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to her performance during the interview process, Ms. Ragas has many qualifications that support her appointment to the leadership role, including:
  • Experience in the early childhood landscape
  • Experience leading an early learning center
  • National Association Commission accreditation as an Early Childcare leader
  • A Pathways certified trainer
  • Qualifications to deliver in-house training for Hoffman teachers for state-required certifications
  • Undergraduate and graduate degrees directly related to early childhood leadership
Ms. Ragas has also taken the baton with respect to NAEYC accreditation for Hoffman ELC to ensure that we continue on the path to this important national accreditation.

In her first steps as our new executive director, Ms. Ragas will be reaching out shortly to parents to schedule a virtual meet-and-greet so that you can get to know her, learn more about her educational philosophy and her plans to reach new goals for our students and our center, and to discuss ways in which we can continue to enrich the dialogue between the Hoffman team and our Hoffman families.

Thank you for your patience as we've worked to ensure that Hoffman's leadership continues to be in good hands!

Signed,
Joel Castro
